Baking is in my blood.  My grandfather was a baker. The baker-owner of Frank's Bakery in Wakefield, MA for over 40 years.  My grandparents worked tirelessly there, my Nano in the back with his white uniform and apron, and my beautiful Nana in the front at the counter and cash register, always serving their patrons with a smile.

Years later, my mother started up a small business herself. I was young then, maybe 10 or 12 years old, and  I remember one event in particular, the Midsummer's Night on Wakefield Common. My mother had a stand there, and I helped her; we spent the night slicing literally hundreds of pieces of fresh cheesecake and filling cannolis as fast as we possibly could.  I will never forget that day.
